I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxed, recharged, and ready to start a new school year. I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and I look forward to working with you and your children. All signs point to another incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility and the results are amazing. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning. I recognize that some students may be feeling anxious with the start of a new school year and we will continue to place a strong emphasis on social emotional learning while focusing on building classroom community. As a school community we are aware that we will need to address unfinished learning by focusing on specialized skills and content needed to learn grade level standards while providing the appropriate tools needed to grasp concepts. DeLong Elementary School is such a special place to learn and grow. Together with our dedicated staff, we strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, accepted, and safe. We are proud of our beautiful school and have high expectations for every student because Blazing Dragons are kind, compassionate, and resilient. At DeLong our mission is to provide a rigorous and joyful inclusive school environment. Our overarching goal is to encourage active student engagement to foster a lifetime love for learning.
